The Contractor will perform the exploratory excavation tasks as following noted and in accordance with the details provided in this project manual or as directed by the Engineer on: N MAJOR DR & WESTFIELD AVE EXPLORATORY EXCAVATION AND SANITARY SEWER REPAIR CONTRACT: Perform an exploratory excavation at the cavity forming underneath the collapsed sidewalk near manhole 141 while avoiding any additional damage to the manhole or underground utilities. The exploratory dig shall be to the top of the 54-inch sanitary sewer trunk line, deeper if required, and around the manhole to inspect the manhole and sanitary sewer tie-ins. The depth of the 54-inch sanitary sewer line is approximately 15.5 ft to the top of the pipe, as-builts have been provided in the plan set. Perform an exploratory excavation of the 10-inch sanitary sewer line along Westfield Ave., starting on the East side of manhole 141 and continuing east along the 10-inch line until the line break / slipped joint are located. Repair the line via point repair method or replace the damaged section of the 10-inch line and backfill according to City of Beaumont Specifications. Provide bypass pumping and sewer flow control as needed during the repair or replacement of damaged components. Provide trench excavation protection. Pre and Post Clean and CCTV inspection of the 10-inch sanitary sewer line in question. Backfill all excavations and pits per City of Beaumont Standard Detail. Traffic control as required by the most recent TxDOT TCP Standards. Site restoration to its pre-construction condition or better. The intent of these Contract Documents is to provide for construction and completion, in every detail, of the work described herein and in the plans. It is further intended that the Contractor shall furnish all labor, material, equipment, tools, transportation, supplies, and barricades required to complete the work in accordance with the plans, specifications, and terms of the Contract. It is the explicit intention of the Contract that the safety of the public, as well as the Contractors personnel, is the most important consideration with respect to his/her own operation of all his/her Subcontractors. The contractor shall provide marking, lighting, and other acceptable means of identifying: personnel; equipment; vehicles; work area or condition that may be hazardous to the public. The Contractor shall furnish, erect, and maintain barricades, warning signs, flagmen, and other traffic control devices in reasonable conformity with the Manual of Uniform Traffic Control Devices for Streets and Highways (published by Texas Department of Transportation). It is the intent of these Contract Documents to provide and adhere to all requirements as specified in and by construction specifications as adopted by the City of Beaumont, by manufacturer's specifications, and by standard engineering practice. Bidders must submit an original Bid Bond, Cashier's Check, Certified Check or irrevocable Letter of Credit issued by a bank satisfactory to the Owner, payable without recourse to the order of the City of Beaumont in an amount not less than five (5) percent of the largest possible bid amount as a guaranty that the Bidder will enter into contract and execute bond and guaranty in the form provided within fourteen (14) calendar days after date of Notice of Award of the contract.
