Renovation of a water / sewer project in Rockledge, Florida. Completed plans call for the renovation of a water / sewer project.

The City of Rockledge is seeking to award a contract for Progressive Design Build (PDB) services for the City of Rockledge Advanced Wastewater Treatment Phase II (Project) project. This project will improve treatment at the City of Rockledge Wastewater Treatment Plant to achieve Advanced Waste Treatment (AWT) for compliance with regulatory requirements. The Project is to be designed and constructed in two phases using the Progressive Design Build delivery method. At a minimum, the design and construction of the AWT upgrades are required. If funding is available, the project may expand to include the design and construction of a second deep injection well. The planning, design, and construction of the AWT upgrades must include the coordination with the second deep injection well. The City is open to innovative solutions but prefers a biological treatment system and would like to minimize the use of chemicals. The City envisions the project will involve the modification of the treatment unit processes to address the regulations. Improvements to the headworks, equalization, disinfection, effluent pumping, storage, and solids handling are not anticipated. The project does not include upgrades or modifications to the solids handling processes, but solids produced from the AWT upgrades must be compatible with the solids handling processes. Standards and requirements for the design of the project must meet Chapter 62-600 Domestic Wastewater Facilities, F.A.C. at a minimum.
