Question Deadline 08/22/2024 All questions concerning this Pre-qualification Application procedure shall be submitted in writing to the attention of Syed Kamal, Wastewater Design and Construction Division, email address: DPWESCAPWastewaterTreatmentInquiry@fairfaxcounty.gov To be considered, such requests must be received at least seven (7) calendar days prior to the deadline for submittal of the Pre-qualification Application Fairfax County is soliciting pre-bid qualifications for the construction of the FF Filter Gates Improvements, located at the Noman M. Cole, Jr. Pollution Control Plant (NCPCP) at 9399 Richmond Highway, Lorton, Virginia 22079. Only firms that have been pre-qualified in accordance with the procedures in the Prequalification Application will be eligible to submit bids for this project. Bids received from those who have not been pre-qualified will not be considered. The work shall include but may not be limited to the following: o Inspection of existing influent gate and effluent valve wall thimble to confirm condition and bolt pattern requirements. o Replacement of rectangular butterfly backwash waste valves located in each filter gullet with electrically actuated upward opening gates and manually operated upward opening gates. o Replacement of reverse travel sluice gates located on the influent channel of each filter with electrically actuated downward opening gates and manually operated downward opening gates o Replacement of existing mud valves with new mud valves. o Replacement of grating at influent valves. o Installation of concrete bulkhead at the downstream end of the east influent channel as well as the enlargement of the channel access opening. The FF Filter Facility is designed to treat the tertiary clarifiers effluent to remove dissolved organic materials and phosphorous. The work will take place within the NCPCP, a 67 million-gallons-per day ( MGD) Advanced Wastewater Treatment Plant with peak flows up to 120 MGD that runs 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. With multiple other construction work taking place at the NCPCP, all work will have to be completed in phases to maintain the NCPCP's continuous operational needs. The General Contract for this project is anticipated to be advertised for bid in January 2025 with bid opening in February 2025. The Contract Award date is projected for April 2025, with an anticipated construction start of April 2025. The overall construction duration is planned to be approximately 21 months. These are estimated dates and durations and are subject to change. The cost for this project is estimated to be between $3 million and $5 million. *The value for this project is based on a financial range. The value is listed as the highest possible cost from the range provided by a stakeholder or official project document.
