The Olympia School District is seeking architect/engineering services to lead a Planning Advisory Committee through a Long Range Facility Master Plan looking ahead at potential educational trends over the next decade, conditions of district facilities, projected enrollment, utilization of current schools and the capacity of the district to meet future needs. The OSD is currently working with independent consultants to conduct a detailed building condition assessment for all 22 district owned buildings (including 19 schools), and properties, in anticipation of this information being used to assist with the long range planning. The anticipate timeline would be for the awarded firm to begin working with the Planning Advisory Committee by the middle of October 2024, and present a finalized report submitted the school board in October 2025. This process includes 12-15 Committee Meetings, 2-3 Community Workshops, and 3-4 school board updates. The awarded firm should assist the district in applying for the Study and Survey Grant from the Office of Superintendent of Public Instruction (OSPI) and will be expected to submit documents to the district that are accessible and compliant with Office for Civil Rights standards for sharing with the public. Selection Process: The OSD plans to evaluate all applicants, selecting three firms for an in person interview the week of August 26th.
