Central Burying Ground Litchfield Seat Repair Procurement The Town of Carlisle seeks quotes from qualified contractors for restoring the Litchfield Seat Monument at the Central Burying Ground at 31 Lowell Street, Carlisle, MA. Scope of Services Litchfield Seat Restoration Contractor must provide all supervision, labor, materials, equipment, tools and other services necessary to perform and complete the work described. All work will progress in accordance with all municipal, state, local codes and ordinances without interruptions. This is a labor-intensive job that requires skilled craftspeople / professionals. Permits and inspections if required. The Town of Carlisle will waive all Town permit fees. Document the existing conditions for areas requiring replication. Remove the existing roofing, sheathing, and roof system down to the (2) Main girts. Main girts to remain. Load and dispose of debris Fabricate new 3 x 6 rafter beams to replicate existing dimensions and architectural Profiles. Fabricate new 4 x 6 cross-tie beams to replicate existing dimensions and architectural profiles. Fabricate new 2 x 6 ridge beam to replicate existing dimensions and architectural profiles. Fabricate new 4 x 6 vertical support posts to replicate existing dimensions and architectural profiles. All new structural components to be made of lumber (to be confirmed with the HC) milled to custom thicknesses and shapes, architectural profiles, Install matching tongue and groove beadboard on top surface of new roof rafter system. Install custom fabricated 16oz red copper drip edge at leading edges Install cedar breather material to exposed roof area. Install Red Cedar Tapersawn roof shingles to all roof area. Custom fabricate and install 16oz red copper ridge cap.
