This project requires 24 % DBE participation, or if the contract goal is not met, documented evidence of good faith efforts. The Complexity Factor for this project is 0.035. The Consultant who is selected for this project and all Subconsultants the Prime Consultant will be using are scheduled to attend an initial meeting on October 31, at 1:00 PM at the Region One/District One Office in Schaumburg. Phase II engineering services are required for the I-290 frontage road (Harrison Street) drainage improvement from 22nd Avenue to Des Plaines River. As part of this frontage road storm sewer (FRS) improvement, a 66-inch and 72-inch reinforced concrete relief sewer and associated lateral sewer connections, manholes and catch basins will be constructed using open cut method along the south side of the Harrison Street. The FRS will be built to allow the local separated storm sewer to connect into it, helping alleviate local flooding. The FRS will outlet into the Des Plaines River. As part of this improvement, 24-inch diameter storm sewer stubs along the frontage road storm sewer will be constructed and bulkheaded at every cross street where local sewer separation has not been completed. In addition, FRS along Harrison Street will be constructed in a way that allows for future connection to the proposed FRS along Bataan Drive with a crossing at east of 1st Avenue. The completion date for this contract will be 12 months after authorization to proceed. The Prime firm must be prequalified in the Highways (Freeways) category to be considered for this project. Statements of Interest, including resumes of only the key people noted above, must be submitted electronically to the Central Bureau of Design and Environment through the Engineering Prequalification and Agreement System (EPAS). The method of contractor selection has not been determined at this time. IDOT - 2 - RFQ - FAI 290 (Eisenhower Expressway) Drainage Improvements
