Project will install a storage mezzanine in room 140 located in building 2733. Mezzanine will be 850 square feet (SF) and be constructed of steel. PROJECT DESCRIPTION Project will install a storage mezzanine in room 140 located in building 2733. Mezzanine will be 850 square feet (SF) and be constructed of steel framing with a steel grating floor. Steel stairs will be provided for pedestrian access. Gates will be provided on each side to transfer equipment and parts by forklift up to the mezzanine. See Part 6 for conceptual layout. The space must be designed and constructed to protect against safety hazards to person(s) and existing mechanical, electrical, and plumbing equipment which occur due to the installation of the mezzanine. Utilize screening where mechanical equipment is located; however, ensure equipment is still safely accessible for maintenance. Provide signs on mezzanine gates stating Gates must be closed while not in use. Mezzanine must be designed to comply with OSHA and protect against fall hazards. Relocate air and quad-plex suspended at center of room to a nearby wall. Coordinate with government the exact location. The existing fire protection will require modification to provide coverage above and below the mezzanine. Provide new lighting below the mezzanine and replace the existing lighting to provide head clearance and code compliant lighting above the mezzanine. Remove tool room cage from space. Contractor will provide a shipping container for temporary storage and move all furniture and equipment within the space to the temporary storage. Return the equipment to the space at completion of construction. Coordinate with the end-user for the exact location the furniture and equipment will be returned to within the space. End-user will clean the refrigerator prior to being placed into storage. Please include all PPIs on one form and number sequentially.
