Remodeling and renovation of a military facility in Washington, District of Columbia. Completed plans call for the remodel of a military facility.

Provide design documents that include basis of design, design drawings including CAD drawings (All CAD drawings shall be in AUTOCAD 2020 or later) and design specifications, reports and submittal register in accordance with FC 1-300-09N Navy and Marine Corps Design Procedures. Contracted shall visit the site and take measurements to generate CAD drawings. 1.2.2. Fire Protection Services a. Replace all fire extinguishers in Area 2200 b. Remove and reinstall fire alarm appliances to accommodate ceiling replacement. NRL 71- Replace HVAC System in Area 2200 WO# 1817990 35 1.2.3 Office Area a. Replace ceiling in-kind with GWB substrate and adhered acoustical ceiling tiles. Provide new batt insulation above ceiling. Ceiling height to match existing. b. Remove existing light fixtures and replace them with energy efficient LED types as recommended in Option1 page 63 of attachment #1. c. Demolish sprinkler heads and escutcheons. Provide semi-recessed sprinkler assemblies and modify piping accordingly. d. Existing below ceiling cable tray to remain. 1.2.4 Pool Area a. Replace ceiling with new ACT. Ceiling height to match existing. b. Demolish sprinkler heads and escutcheons. Provide semi-recessed sprinkler assemblies and modify piping accordingly. c. Remove existing light fixtures and replace them with energy efficient LED types as recommended in Option 2 page 63 of attachment #1. 1.2.5 Computer Room Area a. Remove existing ceiling tiles and grid and replace them with new 2-feet by 2-feet ceiling tiles and grid to match existing height .Ceiling tiles to have a noise reducing coefficient of 0.9. b. Remove existing light fixtures and replace them with energy efficient LED types as recommended in Option 2 page 63 of attachment #1. c. Demolish sprinkler heads and escutcheons. Provide semi-recessed sprinkler assemblies and modify piping accordingly. 1.2.6 Mezzanine a. Demolish existing Mechanical Mezzanine wood framing and plywood floor. Replace floor with wood framing and Revised May 2022 plywood as design requires. b. Demolish existing mechanical HVAC system, including: the air handling unit, return fan, ductwork, supports, piping, steam heat exchanger, hot water expansion tank and hot water air separator, heating hot water pumps and controls. c. Provide a single air handling unit to serve the entire 2200 suite. This includes office area, pool area and computer room area. The office and computer room areas will be served by single inlet variable air volume (VAV) boxes equipped with heating coils. The pool area will be served by series fan powered boxes equipped with heating coils and a dedicated exhaust fan. HVAC controls to be BACnet DDC. d. Provide support steel framing into existing steel truss members and all connections, hangar rods as needed for HVAC equipment and associated components. e. Remove existing light fixtures and replace them with energy efficient LED types as recommended in Option 2 page 64 of attachment #1. f. Demolish and replace sprinkler system piping as needed to support removal and installation of HVAC equipment. g. Provide duct smoke detectors for new air handling unit. 1.2.7 Hazardous Materials Testing and Abatement Provide additional hazardous material testing on floor tile/mastic in the office area and abate same. Perform hazardous material abatement per Appendix B in attachment#1 in part 6 of this RFP. Note: Consult attachment 1 of part 6 of this RFP for a detailed scope of this project. 1.3 Duration of Project This project shall be completed 744 calendar days after the award of contract. 1.4 Liquidated damages In the event of unmet project deadlines or in case of any breach of this contract, the Contractor, shall be liable to liquidated damages in the amount of $284 per day. 2.0 PROJECT OBJECTIVES The objectives of this project are to procure Design-Build services for the replacement of the HVAC System in Area 2200 of NRL 71, remediate the mezzanine and replace ceiling tiles, replace fire extinguishers and adjust/replace fire protection systems in area 2200. Location- Building 71 is bordered on the west by Magazine Rd WS, on the north by an alley adjacent to Building 517, and on the south by Buildings 97 & 101. Suite 2200 is located on the second floor, in the plan northwest portion ofBuilding 71 General a. Replace all fire extinguishers. b. Remove and reinstall fire alarm appliances to accommodate ceiling replacement. Office Area - a. Replace ceiling in-kind with GWB substrate and adhered acoustical ceiling tiles. Provide new batt insulation above ceiling. Ceiling height to match existing. b. Temporarily remove and reinstall surface mounted light fixtures. c. Demolish sprinkler heads and escutcheons. Provide semi-recessed sprinkler assemblies and modify piping accordingly. d. Existing below ceiling cable tray to remain. Pool Area a. Replace ceiling with new ACT. Ceiling height to match existing. b. Demolish sprinkler heads and escutcheons. Provide semi-recessed sprinkler assemblies and modify piping accordingly. c. Existing light fixtures to remain; temporarily suspend to accommodate ceiling replacement. 4. Computer Room Area a. Replace ceiling with new ACT. Ceiling height to match existing. b. Demolish sprinkler escutcheons to accommodate ceiling replacement. Existing sprinklers to remain. Provide escutcheons. c. Existing light fixtures to remain; temporarily suspend to accommodate ceiling replacement. 5. Mezzanine a. Demolish existing Mechanical Mezzanine wood framing and plywood floor. Replace floor with wood framing and plywood as design requires. b. Demolish existing mechanical HVAC system, including: the air handling unit, return fan, ductwork, supports, piping, steam heat exchanger, hot water expansion tank and hot water air separator, heating hot water pumps and controls. c.
