Seyburn Drive Auburn Hills, MI 48326 The Auburn Hills Public Library is seeking responses from qualified contractors to renovate four public restrooms within its facility in the Fall of 2024. The successful bidder will be responsible for executing a comprehensive, turnkey renovation of these public bathroom facilities. This project encompasses all aspects of the renovation process, from initial planning through to final completion and handover. The following document outlines the nature and scope of work requested and provides a brief summary of the Auburn Hills Public Library The City of Auburn Hills is seeking responses from qualified vendors to renovate four bathrooms at the Auburn Hills Public Library. The following document outlines the nature and scope of work General Requirements - Contractors License Required - Installation Required - Insurance Required - Warranty Information Required 1) PREPARATION OF PROPOSAL A) Proposers are expected to examine the scope of work, specifications, and all instructions. Failure to do so will be at the proposer's risk. B) Each Proposer shall furnish all information required on the proposal form. Erasures or other changes must be initialed by the person signing the proposal form. C) The proposal shall clearly address all of the information requested herein. Proposals should be thorough yet concise. Proposals are to be prepared at the contractor's expense. D) All Proposers shall carefully examine the RFP documents. Any ambiguities or inconsistencies shall be brought to the attention of the City in writing before the due date; failure to do so, on the part of the Proposer, will constitute acceptance by the Proposer of any subsequent decision. All questions will be answered by August 22, 2024. Renovation of four existing bathrooms at the Auburn Hills Public Library to be completed by December 15 th 2024. o The renovated bathrooms shall match the existing Youth Restroom located on the library's lower level. o The contractor is expressly prohibited from subcontracting, assigning, or delegating any portion of the work to any third party under any circumstances unless otherwise approved by the AHPL or City of Auburn Hills. o Demolition work will involve the complete removal of existing fixtures, tile flooring, wall tiles, countertops, and partition walls. All debris must be disposed of in compliance with local regulations. Following demolition, the contractor will conduct a thorough inspection of the existing plumbing and electrical systems. This inspection will inform any necessary upgrades or replacements to ensure compliance with current building codes and to accommodate the new design. o Plumbing work will include the adaptation and renovation of plumbing positions to fit new fixtures, repair or replacement of damaged pipes, and installation of new water supply lines and drain pipes as needed. o New installations form a critical part of this renovation. The scope includes the installation of new ceramic tile on floors and walls, a new stainless steel partition wall system, and new quartz countertops. The contractor will also install new plumbing fixtures, including toilets, urinals, sinks, and faucets, as well as new mirrors, soap dispensers, hand dryers, other dispensers, and baby changing stations. o Finishing work will involve grouting all tile work, sealing grout, caulking around fixtures and countertops, and painting walls, ceilings, doors, and trim. The contractor must ensure all new installations meet ADA requirements, including the installation of grab bars and other necessary accessibility features. o Quality control is paramount throughout the project. The contractor will be expected to conduct thorough testing of all plumbing fixtures for leaks and proper function, as well as testing of all electrical installations. A comprehensive quality inspection of all work performed will be required before project completion. o The final phases of the project include a thorough cleaning of the entire renovated area, removal of all construction debris, and a final walk-through to address any remaining issues. The contractor will also be responsible for coordinating with all subcontractors and suppliers to ensure timely delivery of materials and adherence to the project timeline. o Project management is a crucial component of this renovation. The successful bidder will provide regular progress updates, conduct quality checks, and ensure compliance with all relevant building codes and standards throughout the duration of the project. o Upon completion, the contractor will facilitate final inspections and obtain all necessary approvals. They will also provide a complete handover package, including warranty information for all new fixtures and materials, as well as care and maintenance instructions for the new installations. o This comprehensive scope ensures a turnkey solution for the public bathroom renovation, covering all aspects from initial demolition through to final handover, resulting in a fully updated, functional, and compliant facility.
