The Town of Rocky Mount is soliciting competitive sealed bids from qualified providers to dive and clean sediment from the Clearwell at the water treatment plant located at 200 Shady Lane, Rocky Mount, VA. Due to the inability to drain the Clearwell for this maintenance work, underwater diving will be required. Prospective bidders must be able to remove light and heavy sediment from years of lime and soda use by vacuum or other mechanical means. Work must be performed according to VDH Drinking Water standards and all work must adhere to OSHA standards. Prospective bidders are welcome to inspect the location in advance by contacting Mr. Mark W. Moore at (540) 483-0907 or mmoore@rockymountva.org. Scope : The scope includes removing all sediment in the Clearwell and cleaning it to VDH Drinking Water standards. The Clearwell is in the basement of the water plant and there is a hatch to access it. If needed, the building plans are available upon request. The Town reserves the right to reject any or all bids submitted, and to waive any informality in the proposals. The right is also reserved to award the contract where it appears to be in the best interest of and best interest of the Town.
