CHAMPAIGN-URBANA MASS TRANSIT DISTRICT (MTD) or DISTRICT, will be receiving bids in accordance with Invitation for the demolition, excavation, and temporary grading of a parking lot and two (2) buildings located at 51 E. Chester St., Champaign, Illinois 61820 Any contract resulting from these proposals is subject to financial assistance contracts between the District, the United States Department of Transportation, the Federal Transit Administration (FTA), and the Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT). The District will be bound by the terms and conditions of the proposal only to the extent funds from whatever source are available. The District also hereby notifies bidders that they affirmatively ensure that all Disadvantaged Business Enterprises, as defined by the United States Government, are afforded full opportunity to submit proposals in response to this invitation and will not knowingly discriminate against any proposer upon the grounds of gender, race, color or national origin in the consideration of award of the contract. PURPOSE & SCOPE OF PROJECT The Champaign-Urbana Mass Transit District (MTD) is seeking bids from qualified, responsive, and responsible companies for the demolition, excavation, and temporary grading of a parking lot and two (2) buildings located in Champaign, Illinois 61820. The scope of work and specifications are outlined in this Invitation for Bid (IFB). The successful bidder shall meet and comply with all terms and conditions set forth in this document and all other attachments. MTD intends to award one (1) prime contract to the lowest, responsive, and responsible bidder for the demolition of two (2) vacant building structures, plume of debris removal, excavation, engineered fill site excavation, storm sewer, manhole/inlet construction, curb and gutter removal and replacement, sidewalk removal and replacement, and aggregate base replacement. This project is expected to also include asbestos and other hazardous material abatement activities, removal and disposal of all debris, disconnection, abandonment of existing utility service lines, temporary site grading, and all other incidental and associated activities.
