The Floyd County Board of Commissioners will be accepting sealed proposals for the purpose of Design/Build Catwalk or Ladders for Fuel Tanks for Floyd County Georgia. The tanks are located at Richard B. Russell Airport in Rome, GA. All required documents and scope of work is attached. Self at randy.self@floydcountyga.org. Verbal questions and answers are not binding on any party. The catwalk or ladders should be designed and built off site. No welding can be done in the immediate vicinity of the fuel tanks. - . The catwalk should span from outside the containment area to the opposite side outside of the containment area (see photos) or should be three individual ladders, whichever is most feasible. The Catwalk or ladders should be approximately 3ft in width with handrails of sufficient height to create as safe an environment as possible. Individual ladders should have handrails as well. -The walking/climbing surface should be of steel designed for a non-skid type of application for the catwalk or ladders. -The catwalk or ladders should be built so that sections maybe be assembled on site. Existing ladders may be used if they can be adequately modified to provide the access and safety required. - The catwalk or ladders should be anchored in concrete footing of a sufficient size and depth to ensure safety, stability and longevity. The catwalk or ladders cannot be attached to the tanks. However, contact can be made with the tank surface for support provided the contact point is rubber or some other non- conductive type of bumper. - The catwalk/ladders should be painted safety yellow with the painting to be a rust preventive such as Rustoleum or equal. - The successful contractor should provide a drawing or sketch in sufficient detail to include materials to be used and sizes of materials, paint call out, footing detail, etc. The Catwalk/ladders should be designed, built and installed before the end of the 2024 calendar year.
