Disclaimer: IN ORDER FOR YOUR BID TO BE CONSIDERED A LEGAL BONAFIDE BIDDER ON THE PROJECT, DOCUMENTS MUST BE PURCHASED FROM REMINGTON, VERNICK ENGINEERS DIRECTLY The Township of Ewing reserves the right to consider the bids for sixty (60) days after the receipt thereof, and further reserves the right to reject any or all bids, either in whole or in part and also to waive any informality in any and make such awards or take action as may be in the best interest of the Township of Ewing, in accordance with applicable law. Each bid shall be accompanied by a certified check, cashier's check or bid bond duly executed by the bidder as principal and having as surety thereon a surety company approved by the Township of Ewing in an amount not less than ten percent (10%) but in no case in excess of $20,000.00 of the amount bid. Any such bid bond shall be without endorsement or conditions. Bid shall also be accompanied by a certificate letter from a surety company stating that it will provide the bidder with the completion bond. Bidders are required to comply with the requirements of N.J.S.A. 10:5-31 et seq., N.J.A.C. 17:27 (Affirmative Action), N.J.S.A. 34:11-56.25 et seq.(New Jersey Prevailing Wage Act), and Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 (42 U.S.C. S12101, et seq.). The contractor is further notified that he must comply with N.J.S.A. 52:25-24.2 and submit a Disclosure Statement listing stockholders with his bid. The contractor is further notified that he must comply with N.J.S.A. 34:11-56.48 et seq. Public Works Contractor Registration Act and he and any subcontractors must be registered in accordance with the act. The contractor is also further notified that he must comply with N.J.S.A. 52:32-44 and submit proof of business registration and submit proof of business registration for any named subcontractors in accordance with the act. This project, located at the Ewing Senior and Community Center in the Township of Ewing, Mercer County, New Jersey, consists of the demolition and construction of the training pool, wading pool, training pool pump house building, reconstruction of the basketball court and construction of a new sand volleyball court. This project, located at the Ewing Senior and Community Center in the Township of Ewing, Mercer County, New Jersey, consists of the demolition and construction of the training pool, wading pool, training pool pump house building, reconstruction of the basketball court and construction of a new sand volleyball court. Specifically, the contract includes, but is not limited to, the following major components: o Site mobilization. o Provide soil erosion and sediment control measures as indicated in the project documents to prevent contamination of surrounding areas. The contractor is responsible for providing silt fence or other soil erosion control measures for the site as required. o Demolish all equipment, pipes, and utilities in their entirety located below and above grade. o Demolition of training pool pump house building, training pool, and wading pool as shown on the plans. The swimming pool to be demolished is a reinforced concrete structure consisting of concrete bottom slab and walls. All foundations shall be removed completely. o Demolition of concrete slab on grade walkways around the pool areas within the limits shown on the plans. o Demolition of existing fencing and asphalt walkways as shown on the plans. o Backfill to match proposed and/or existing grade including clean fill. Provide final grading of the site to match the plans. o Prior to demolition, the contractor is responsible for the dewatering of the existing pool structures. o Remove all the debris from demolition, including concrete slabs and walls. All walls and footings shall be removed, complete. o The contractor is responsible for maintaining the site safety throughout the construction project. A construction barrier of fencing shall be provided around all open excavations. o The contractor is responsible for having all existing underground utilities marked out in the areas of demolition. o The contractor is responsible for disconnection and proper closure or sealing of all existing utilities and piping in the areas to be demolished. Cut and cap existing water service where it enters the property. o All adjacent buildings or structures that are not to be demolished shall be properly protected from any damage resulting from the demolition. o All trees are to remain and left undisturbed unless noted on the plans to be removed. o The contractor is responsible for repair or replacement of any concrete, structures, or any other existing improvements that are damaged during demolition. This includes, but is not limited to, concrete sidewalks and concrete curbing. o All demolition debris shall be disposed of at proper facilities in accordance with all local and state requirements. All materials that can be recycled, such as concrete or masonry hall be recycled. Written documentation or receipts of all recycled materials shall be provided to the owner. o The contractor is responsible for obtaining all applicable local or state demolition permits required for this work. o All demolition work shall conform to the applicable local or state construction code requirements. o All work not specifically listed in a bid form pay item shall be incorporated into the lump sum/unit pay items listed. o Furnish and install aquatic structures complete per the contract documents. Contractor shall be responsible to provide all items as listed on the project drawings and specifications and price shall include, but is not limited to, foundations, pool structures, piping, filtration systems, pump systems, chemical treatment systems, meters, pipe supports, reservoirs, pool features, pool equipment, cleaning features, pool furniture, pool accessories, controls, tanks, feeders, pool lights and drains, and all appurtenances and all costs necessary to provide a fully functional pool complex for construction of process, mechanical, plumbing, and electrical equipment. Proposed new pool construction shall include the training pool and the wading pool. o Furnish and install new building construction facilities complete per the contract documents. Contractor shall be responsible to provide all items as listed on the project drawings and specifications and price shall include, but is not limited to, foundations, structural fill, DGA, wall systems, roof systems and accessories, architectural elements and finishes, furniture, and all appurtenances and all costs necessary to provide a fully functional building space for construction of process, mechanical, plumbing, and electrical equipment. o Construction of new fencing, concrete sidewalks and concrete pool decking, and new shade structures. o Removal and replacement of existing drinking fountain. o Topsoil, seeding and landscaping. Every request for such interpretation should be made in writing, addressed to the Engineer, and to be given consideration, must be received at least ten (10) days prior to the final date fixed for receiving bids
