Beaumont Circus Park (located at 15 Avenue NE and 4 Street NE) is identified as an opportunity for redevelopment as part of the second phase of the City of Calgary's Established Area Growth and Change Strategy (EAGCS). EAGCS is a program of work that includes public space capital investment improvements in established areas within the city. The site is located in the established community of Renfrew, which is identified as a neighbourhood that is experiencing significant growth and change. It is important that parks and public spaces continue to evolve to meet the changing needs and desires of both existing and new residents. Beaumont Circus Park presents an opportunity to transform a currently under-utilized intersection into a vibrant community park space. Historically, Beaumont Circus Park was developed as part of The City Beautiful Movement, which focused on creating aesthetically-pleasing, curated green spaces integrated into the urban fabric. This project is a unique opportunity to pay homage to its original intent and bring the space back to life for the current and future residents of Renfrew. TIMELINE: This project has been cancelled by the owner. No further design or construction is expected. Coverage of this report is discontinued.
