This is a request for proposal for the City of Palestine for the construction of a concrete walking trail at Reagan Park. The contractor will be responsible for creating a new walking trail by pouring new concrete, which will connect to the existing concrete walkway at the park. The walking trail will be 4-inch thick with 3/8-inch rebar on 16-inch to 18-inch centers with ramps at driveway areas. Any damaged concrete currently at Reagan Park will need to be replaced. Approximately 150 feet of damaged concrete will need to be cut out and replaced. The contractor shall be registered with the City of Palestine and obtain any permits necessary to complete this project. The City of Palestine is a home rule city located in Anderson County with a population of approximately 18,544 per the 2020 U.S. Census estimate. The City operates under a Council-Manager form of government with a mayor, six (6) council members, and a city manager. The council members are elected from single-member districts, with the mayor elected as large. The city manager is the chief executive officer of the city. It is the city manager’s duty to execute and implement policies established by the City Council.
