The DAF Building Roof Replacement Project includes the removal and replacement of a ballasted EPDM single ply membrane roof system and all ancillary components. The roof area is approximately 1,070 sq. ft. with a perimeter of 140 ft. The project is located at the Nine Springs Wastewater Treatment Plant, 1610 Moorland Road, Madison, Wisconsin. Bids shall be addressed to the Madison Metropolitan Sewerage District; Brady Lessner, Maintenance Project Specialist; 1610 Moorland Road; Madison, Wisconsin 53713; and shall be marked Sealed Bid, DAF Building Roof Replacement Project. The contractor shall provide and furnish all labor, materials, equipment, tools, power, utilities, transportation, and all other items and services necessary to perform and complete in a workman like manner the DAF Building Roof Replacement Project, for the Madison Metropolitan Sewerage District, all in accordance with the Contract Documents herein mentioned, including any and all Addenda prepared by the Madison Metropolitan Sewerage District, which Contract Documents are made a part of this Contract; and the contractor shall do all other things required of the Contractor by said Contract Documents. Description of Work A. This specification section includes requirements to remove existing and replace a ballasted EPDM single ply roof system. Scope of Work A. Remove existing ballast. MMSD to relocate ballast after removal from roof. B. Remove and dispose of existing 24 GA facia/ gravel stop. C. Remove and dispose of EPDM roof membrane, rigid insulation and perlite insulation. D. Remove and replace wood nailers at roof perimeter per DAF Building Roof Record Drawings Sheet 1 Facia Detail 1-3. E. Repair bitumen vapor retarder where deemed necessary by MMSD engineer upon inspection. Repairs are to be paid on a negotiated time and materials basis. F. Provide and install tapered isocyanurate insulation. Replace in kind with 1/8 in./ft. slope. G. Provide and install EPDM membrane and ballast. H. Provide and install new aluminum facia/ gravel stop at roof edge down to cover new wood nailers. I. J. Provide and install flashing at equipment curbs, vent pipes, exhaust stack, guy wire anchors, conduit penetrations, and gas pipe as shown in the drawings.
