**As of October 8 , 2024 , this project has been awarded to Lyngsoe System Inc., awarded amount not available.** Reference Number 0000359732 The City of Littleton is requesting proposals for an automated materials handling system and installation, training, and ongoing maintenance. Question Deadline 08/20/2024 at 12:00 PM MT Questions are submitted online Yes QUESTIONS & ANSWERS UPLOADED AUGUST 26, 2024 General Requirements - FOB Destination - Installation Required - Insurance Required - Local Service Required - Onsite Maintenance Required - Training Required - Warranty Information Required Award Requirements - All or None Award SCOPE OF WORK A. BACKGROUND: The Bemis Public Library ("Library") is located at 6014 S Datura St in Littleton, Colorado. The Library's legal service area is the City of Littleton, with a population of approximately 45,000 people. The Library is open for a total of 64 hours of service each week, excepting holidays and other occasional closures. In 2023 the Library circulated approximately 500,000 physical items. The Library's existing sorter is a seven-bin model by 3M/Bibliotheca, installed in 2013. It receives returned materials from two public return slots (one open to the exterior of the building, and one interior near the circulation counter), and one staff induction point within the workroom. The sorter, bins, conveyor belts, control module, and all other components fit within a rectangular floor area of 14' x 17', enclosed on three sides by walls. More detailed measurements and photos of the space are provided in Attachment E. The Library is a member of the Marmot Library Network, a resource-sharing consortium comprised of 39 libraries and library systems across the state of Colorado. Bemis Library uses the Sierra Integrated Library System ("ILS") by Innovative Interfaces, and uses radio frequency identification ("RFID") tags for collection asset tracking and management. B. PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The city seeks to purchase an automated materials handling system and associated installation services for the Library. The system shall be RFID-enabled and include sorting bins. Services shall include removal and disposal of the existing materials handling equipment and bins, installation of the new system, operational training and support, and ongoing maintenance. The Library does not have a loading dock, therefore delivery trucks need to have a lift gate. Due to the parking lot layout, large delivery trucks may need to park on Datura St. The city anticipates installation and training to occur in the third quarter of 2024. C. SYSTEM SPECIFICATIONS: o The system must fit within the Library's Circulation Workroom, as depicted in the floor plan, Attachment E. o The system must be capable of receiving, identifying, checking-in, and appropriately sorting up to 600 items per hour in various formats, including but not limited to, books, magazines, CDs, multi-disc audiobooks, DVDs, Blu-Rays, and self-contained audiobook devices such as Playaways. o The system must identify materials using the Library's existing RFID-based asset
