Renovation of a mixed-use development in Montgomery, Alabama. Completed plans call for the renovation of a educational facility; and library.

This project includes but is not limited to the following: The rehabilitation of the Rosa Parks Library and Museum building, on Troy University's Montgomery Campus. The Owner intends to award a single contract to a single contractor. The Owner will accept proposals only from pre-qualified firms which demonstrate their experience and ability to perform the work necessary for this Project. Interested General Contractors must submit a Contractor's Qualification Statement showing minimum qualifications to be certified by prospective bidders to include but not limited to: 1) statutory licensure requirements, 2) proof, in the form of a letter from a licensed bonding agent, of current bonding capacity in excess of Four Hundred Thousand dollars, 3) minimum of 5 years in operation as a General Contractor under the same company name 4) minimum annual volume of 1 million dollars in construction value for each of the past three years and at least three (3) construction projects of a similar size and scope to this project completed during the last twenty-four (24) months and 5) Submit all prequalified information required to the Physical Plant office before the bid opening. A certified check or Bid Bond payable to Troy University in an amount not less than five percent (5%) of the amount of the bid, but in no event more than $10,000.00 must accompany the bidder's proposal. Bidders must submit with the proposal a letter from an Insurance Carrier approved by the State of Alabama as evidence of insurability. Performance Bond valued at 100% of the contract amount and Payment Bond valued at 50% of the contract amount will be required at the signing of the Contract The State of Alabama Passed New Legislation Effective January 1, 2012 Known as the Beason-hammon Alabama Taxpayer and Citizen Protection Act, Act No. 2011-535. This Legislation Requires Anyone Receiving State Monies to Verify That They Are in Compliance With the New Immigration Law. The Owner reserves the right to reject any or all proposals and to waive technical errors if, in the Owner's judgment, the best interests of the Owner will thereby be promoted.
