Scope of Work : Plow and salt the drives and open parking lot areas prior to 5:30 am. During heavy accumulations of snow, plow snow and remove snow piles in a timely manner. Snow removal can take place after 4:00 pm or on days when school has been cancelled due to snow or inclement weather. Location: Transportation Department 3301 Fashion Square Blvd Saginaw, MI 48603 School 1. Mackinaw High School (former Plainfield Elementary) 2775 Shattuck Road - All entrance and exit drives around the building and all parking lots, plowed and/or salted by 8:00 am. 2. Weiss Elementary 4645 Weiss Street - All entrance and exit drives around the building and all parking lots, plowed and/or salted by 6:30 am. 3. Sherwood Elementary 3870 Shattuck Road- All entrance and exit drives around the building and all parking lots, plowed and/or salted by 6:30 am. 4. Heritage High School 3465 N. Center Road - All entrance and exit drives around the building and all parking lots, plowed and/or salted by 6:30 am. Schools 1. Hemmeter Elementary 1890 Hemmeter Road- All entrance and exit drives around the building and all parking lots, plowed and/or salted by 6:30 am. 2. Westdale Elementary 705 S. Center Road - All entrance and exit drives around the building and all parking lots, plowed and/or salted by 6:30 am. 3. Arrowwood Elementary 5410 Seidel Road - All entrance and exit drives around the building and all parking lots, plowed and/or salted by 6:30 am. 4. White Pine Middle 505 N. Center Road -All entrance and exit drives around the building and all parking lots (starting with the north lot), plowed and/or salted by 7:30 am. Please quote your best price for Snow Removal/Snow Pile Removal and Salt Application at the STCS Insurance Requirements: A certificate of insurance naming the Saginaw Township Community Schools as an additional insured for commercial general liability insurance must be on file in the Business Office before any work is performed. We also require proof of Worker's Compensation coverage with Saginaw Township Community Schools named as a certificate holder. The required policies and certificates are to be endorsed to give the District at least 30 day notice of cancellation or material reduction of insurance coverage. The preferred General Liability insurance limit is $1,000,000. If you do not have this limit, please send a letter of explanation detailing the reasons you feel your limits are appropriate. Saginaw Township Community Schools reserves the right to terminate the contract at any time due to the contractor's failure to comply with the terms of the contract; i.e. snow removal, snow pile removal and salt application performed per directions by the Saginaw Township Community Schools representative. The District will provide written notice to the contractor of termination thirty (30) days prior to any action being instituted. The contractor will be permitted a rebuttal during this period. 1. The bidder shall be able to substantiate a record of good performance and service and provide references from similar size accounts. 2. The bidder shall furnish all labor and equipment for clearing snow and ice from areas as specified on the attached bid sheets during the months of October (if necessary), November, December, January, February, March and April (if necessary). 3. The bidder shall be responsible for commencing snow/ice removal operations whenever one (1) inch or more of snow accumulation occurs during the night preceding a regular school day or since the last plowing/salting effort. Every effort should be made to complete snow plowing/ice removal and salting operations by the time specified for each school location. (Refer to scope of work listed for each school location on bid proposal documents.) 4. Plowing/Salting for scheduled non-school days such as Thanksgiving Break, Christmas Break and Spring Break will be at the discretion of the Director of Building and Grounds. This may include closures due to an "Act of God" or a pandemic. 5. Buildings and Grounds can supplement and/or augment forces as needed for snowplowing and salting per Director's discretion. The service and work of the successful bidder will be reviewed with the bidder at the end of the 2024-2025 snow season. If the service and work performed satisfactorily meets the District's expectations, the contract will be extended for the second year of the bid.
