The City of Bowling Green, KY is soliciting proposals from qualified general contractors for a design/build project to construct a new storage building of the TECH1, strike team fire engine and additional trailer on an existing concrete pad located at Fire Station 1, 701 E 7th Avenue. The existing pad is approximately 30'x80' with a 15'x20' bump out. Needs include electricity, HVAC, front bay door (rear door wanted), two 3' man doors on fire station side of the building, steel frame with pre-established anchors for rope systems training. Exterior shall be brick to match existing fire station. Building shall have a pitched metal roof and shall not be higher than the hose tower of Fire Station 1. Ceiling height on first floor shall be approximately 30' with a second floor mezzanine off the back part of the building with exterior stairs and man door on the 15'x20' bump out area. A Bid Bond shall be submitted with your proposal as required by KRS 45A.430. A cashier's check, or certified check, may be substituted for the Bid Bond. Also, an irrevocable letter of credit from a state or federally chartered bank, may be substituted as a form of a Bid Bond. The Bid Bond, or substitution security, shall be in the amount of five (5) percent of the total proposal cost.
