Delivery of standard deicing salt with yellow prussiate of soda (YPS) to various locations in Salt Lake County that will be used on the roadways to help in the de-icing process. Bidders must meet or exceed the attached UDOT specifications sections 00951. 5-year term. To ensure availability of product when required, Salt Lake County may award a primary and secondary contract to the two lowest, most responsive, responsible bidders, bidding the lowest overall cost to the County. It is the County's intent to place as many orders as possible with the primary awarded bidder. The 2nd awarded bidder will be awarded a secondary contract and will receive requests for services when it is not available from the lower awarded bidder. Salt Lake County Contracts and Procurement, on behalf of the Public Works Operations Division invites your company to bid on providing and delivery Standard Deicing Salt with Yellow Prussiate of Soda (YPS) to various locations in Salt Lake County that will be used on the roadways to help in the de-icing process. Bidders must meet or exceed the attached UDOT specifications sections 00951. Questions shall be submitted through online. The contract resulting from this solicitation will become effective on the date of execution for a term of 5 years. Bidders acknowledge that no minimum or maximum of purchases under this contract can be specified. For information purposes only and not as any guarantee of purchases to be made under this contract, the County's approximate annual usage for DE-ICING SALT with YPS is 30,000 to 40,000 tons. To be delivered to each stockpile location between 8:00 a.m. and 3:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, within five (5) calendar days from order date, unless otherwise approved by the County. Salt tickets shall be placed in an onsite ticket box to track loads and tons of salt delivered. The county feels that some locations cannot be delivered by belly dump. It is the vendors' responsibility to visit delivery sites to determine proper trucking method. Each delivery shall have a certified weight ticket, mechanically stamped with the weight of the delivery truck empty, loaded, and the quantity delivered. The person actually weighing the unit shall sign each ticket, and this signature shall constitute certification of the load and truck being weighed; furthermore, each weight ticket shall identify the truck by a displayed number on the truck or the license number of the truck. Vendor will guarantee each order delivered will meet product specification. Salt Lake County may, at the vendor's own cost, require the vendor to perform random testing by an independent lab to verify compliance. The awarded vendor(s) shall replace any De-icing Salt (Sodium chloride) not usable for normal highway salting due to lumping or other reasons within ten (10) days of notice of non-compliance at no cost to Salt Lake County. Salt Lake County reserves the right to inspect and reject any load. Inspection will be based on the specifications. Loads that do not meet specifications will be rejected.
