Site work for a municipal facility in La Puente, California. Completed plans call for site work for a 86,000-square-foot municipal facility.

The Watershed Conservation Authority ("WCA") is requesting proposals from California Licensed General Contractors ("Contractor") for the San Gabriel River Center and Gardens ("Project"). This Request for Proposal (RFP) invites qualified Contractors to submit a proposal for the Project. The Contractor will submit a Proposal that describes its approach and cost for satisfactorily completing the Project. The Project is to be completed in two phases ("Phase"): 1) landscaping and 2) physical building. This RFP shall be considered for Phase 1 only. The WCA desires to receive RFPs from qualified Contractors who have successfully delivered public works infrastructure projects of comparable size, complexity, and scope. The WCA may, at its sole discretion, interview any or all Contractors who submit an RFP for the purposes of gaining further information regarding their qualifications. Questions must be received no later than August 21, 2024, at 11:00 AM Contractors are required by law to be licensed and regulated by the california state license board. Any questions concerning a contractor may be referred to the registrar contractors' state license board, p.O. Box 2600, sacramento, ca 95826. Work Covered By Contract Documents: A. The San Gabriel River Center and Gardens project encompasses development of an approximately two-acre (86,000 square feet) site with an exisng 1920's farmhouse, in order to create a waterwise garden that emphasizes sustainability and community engagement. The project will transform the exisng landscape into an educaonal resource and visitor center and will include various enhancements designed to promote environmental stewardship, provide interacve and recreaonal opportunies, and support local biodiversity. B. The project scope includes significant improvements to establish a waterwise garden, emphasizing sustainability and visitor engagement. Enhancements will feature new planng of nave and drought-tolerant species with associated irrigaon infrastructure, accessible pathways, bioswales for stormwater management, and strategically placed seang areas. Addional upgrades include new fencing for security, a natural play area, shade structures, observaon decks, and essenal site amenies such as water fountains and garbage receptacles. These improvements, constung the first phase of the project, aim to create an inving, educaonal environment that promotes environmental stewardship and community involvement and are included in this contract. A second phase of the project, part of a subsequent separate bid and contract, will encompass restoraon of the exisng 1920s farmhouse to provide addional site amenies and educaonal resources, including greywater and rainwater capture. This restoraon will preserve the historical character of the farmhouse while integrang modern funconalies, further enhancing the educaonal and cultural value of the River Center.
