Demolition, site work, paving and new construction of a bridge / tunnel in Mermaid, Prince Edward Island. Completed plans call for the demolition of a bridge / tunnel; for the construction of a bridge / tunnel; for site work for a bridge / tunnel; and for paving for a bridge / tunnel.

The scope of this work includes, but is not necessarily limited to the following: the supply of all labour, equipment, and materials necessary to completely replace the existing bridge structure with a new bridge structure. The work on this project shall consist of but not limited to: excavation; slope protection; environmental controls; asphalt excavation; cold plane and stockpile asphalt; demolition and removal of existing structure; steel piles; concrete formwork and accessories; concrete reinforcement; cast-in-place concrete; new timber structure; structural steel barrier; rip rap; gabion baskets; retaining wall; road work complete with asphalt paving; and all other ancillaries required to completely install the structure to the satisfaction of the Owner. The bond shall be from a surety company authorized to carry on business in Canada guaranteeing to supply a performance bond equal to 50% of the Contract value, excluding HST and a labour and material bond equal to 25% of the Contract value, excluding HST. a certified cheque in the minimum amount of ten percent (10%) of the Contract value, excluding HST, which shall be retained until the warranty period (one (1) year after substantial completion) has elapsed The Contractor agrees to complete the work no later than 17 January 2025 for 2024/25 Phase, and 27 June 2025 for Spring 2025 Phase.
