Renovation of a municipal facility in Fort Worth, Texas. Completed plans call for the renovation of a municipal facility.

The purpose of this bid is to Replace 208V, 3-phase, NEMA 3R, main switchboards for Buildings 1200, 1300, 1400, 2100/2200 & 5051 with GE Spectra ADS switchboards (Works) per the drawings. Bids will be evaluated and awarded to the lowest total bid meeting specifications. Question Deadline 09/03/2024 at 12:00 PM CT Bidders shall go to the "Attachments" tab to download all bidding documents. This is encouraged to be done prior to the pre-bid meeting. Bidders shall go to the "Activities" tab to see the details regarding the planned pre-bid meeting Replace 208V, 3-phase, NEMA 3R, main switchboards for Buildings 1200, 1300, 1400, 2100/2200 & 5051 with GE Spectra ADS switchboards (Works) per the drawings. Contractor shall consider, but not limited to: o To extend concrete pads and existing conductors per new switchboard configuration and dimensions. o Replace existing neutral conductors between medium voltage transformer and switchboard. o Provide Unistrut stand with concrete pad close to each switchboard and relocate equipment mounted to the switchboards to the Unistrut stands. Contractor shall: 1. Perform all works in accordance with all applicable National and Local codes and code authorities. 2. Submit shop drawings electronically for all material furnished under this division of work. Shop drawings shall include, but not limited to layouts giving dimension, elevations, wiring, mounting provisions and conduit entrance locations. 3. Secure and pay for all necessary permits, licenses and inspections required by law for the completion of the Works. Secure and pay for all certificates of approval that are required and deliver them to Tarrant County representative before final acceptance of the Works, including but not limited city's premium for all inspections performed after hours. 4. Identify electrical equipment using laminated three-ply, engraved, plastic nameplates with black surface and white interior core, at least 1/16 inch thick. Attach nameplates using chromium plated screws. Provide nameplates for switchboards and fusible switches. 5. Examine the Works site and make allowances to accommodate existing conditions. 6. All material shall be new, UL listed, and free from defects, unless existing material is specifically shown to be reused and approved by Tarrant County representative in writing. Install all material in accordance with good workmanship standards. 7. Substitutions of specified material shall be approved in advance and in writing by Tarrant County representative. 8. Provide factory finish on all material furnished to the Works and touch up finishes which have been damaged. 9. Provide a copy of as-built plans to Tarrant County representative fifteen (15) days after completion of Works. 10. Maintain operations of all building systems during construction. Coordinate all shutdowns or system disruptions with Tarrant County representative seven (7) days in advance. 11. Use rigid galvanized steel conduit for exposed work below switch height. 12. Use copper conductors, type THHN insulation, or approved equal. Use solid conductors for #10 AWG and smaller and stranded conductors for #8 AWG and larger. Aluminum conductors are not acceptable. 13. Provide connections to all equipment furnished under this Contract and by other divisions of the work. Make all connections as recommended by the manufacturer and as required by applicable codes. 14. Make splices and provide work as required to maintain circuit continuity to existing devices and equipment to remain in service. 15. Remove all existing conductors, cables and exposed conduit rendered unused by the scope of this Works back to the source of supply. 16. Fuses shall be current limiting, with 200,000 R.M.S. symmetrical amperes interrupting rating and shall be UL listed. All fuses shall be of the same manufacturer. Fuses 600 amperes and smaller shall be class RK1, dual element equal to Bussmann LPS-RK. 17. Coordinate with City of Fort Worth to have interim inspections upon receiving switchboards and during replacement of switchboards. 18. Provide a switchboard consisting of the required number of vertical sections bolted together to form one metal enclosed, rigid switchboard with the following features: 19. The sides, top and rear covered with removable screw-on code gauge steel plates. 20. Include all protective devices and equipment as listed on drawings with necessary interconnections. 21. Tin-plated aluminum bus. 22. Bus bars mounted on supports of high impact non-tracking insulation material braced to withstand mechanical forces exerted during 100,000 amp RMS symmetrical short circuit conditions. 23. Weatherproof, non-walk-in, enclosure 24. Chemically clean steel surfaces and treat to aid bonding between paint and metal surfaces. Provide high tensile strength hardware on conductors and a suitable protective finish. 25. Secure a ground bus to each vertical section of structures and extend it the entire length of the switchboard. 26. Use A-B-C type bus arrangement - left-to-right, top-to-bottom and front-to-rear throughout. Switchboard shall be entirely accessible from the front, including cable and bus connections, unless specifically noted otherwise. 27. Provide group mounted, quick-make, and quick-break protective devices with bar connection straps, with device line and load connections accessible from the front. Where "spaces" are scheduled furnish entire bus except device connecting straps. Provide full height wiring gutter covers for quick access to wiring terminals. 28. Provide switchboards meeting UL standard #UL891 and NEMA standard PB-2. The UL label shall appear on all switchboard sections that contain UL listed devices. 29. Provide all testing and inspections on a Sunday. Power must be operational by six hours before building opening on Monday. Perform shutdown so that switchboard outage is isolated, and remainder of campus remains energized. 30. Contractor shall include City's premium cost for testing and inspections performed on weekends. 31. Developing and provide a plan for removal of all demolished equipment from the site and delivery of all new equipment to the site. This plan shall be submitted to Tarrant County representative for review and approval, seven days after the Contract executed.
