Renovation of an educational facility in Lansing, Michigan. Completed plans call for the renovation of a educational facility.
Attwood Elementary Roof Replacement. A bid security bond of 5% is required to be submitted with each bid. All bids must be accompanied by a sworn and notarized Familial Relationship Affidavit, disclosing any familial relationship that exists between the owner or any employee of the bidder and any member of the Lansing School District Board of Education or the Superintendent. The School District shall not accept a bid that does not include this sworn and notarized disclosure statement. The Lansing School District reserves the right to reject any or all bids, in whole or in part, to waive any informalities or irregularities therein, or to award the contract to other than the bidder submitting the best financial bid (low bidder), in its sole and absolute discretion. The subcontractor awarded the new roof project will perform a timely roof removal and installation for a new solar ready roof as detailed below. The contractor shall be responsible for the preparation phase, material procurement and delivery, roof removal (if applicable), substrate preparation, and installation of the roofing system with the goal of a solar ready roof. 1. The contractor shall perform a site inspection and assessment of the existing roof. 2. Review the architectural plans and specifications 3. Obtain necessary permits and approvals 4. Safety plan and implementation 5. Roofer must select and procure the roofing materials including, membranes, insulation, and fasteners. 6. Coordinate the delivery of material to ensure timely arrival 7. Remove existing roofing materials 8. Properly dispose of old materials if applicable with environmental regulations 9. Clean surface and debris removal 10. Repair or replace of damaged substrate 11. Install vapor barriers and insulation as needed 12. Apply waterproofing membranes such as EPDM, TPO, PVC or modified bitumen. Membrane selected must be 90mil. 13. Attach insulation layers as needed 14. Install flashing, edge metal, and drainage components 15. Seal seams and penetrations to ensure water tightness 16. Continuous inspection throughout the installation process 17. Adhere to manufacturer specification and industry standards 18. Final inspection to verify the integrity and performance of the roofing system 19. Remove construction debris and waste 20. Final cleaning of the site to ensure safety and aesthetics of the new roof installation21. Restoration of landscaping and surrounding areas if disrupted during construction 22. Roofer must compile the installation documentation including warranties of installer and manufacturer, maintenance guidelines, and activation of warranty coverage. 23.
