Qualified contractors for the 2024 Peachtree Creek Greenway Project. These bid documents cover grading of an existing cleared area for construction of an open space athletic field. Additional work includes, but is not limited to minor underbrush removal, grubbing, and grassing. The contractor shall furnish all materials, equipment, and labor to complete the required construction, as described in the specifications, including all incidentals, as directed by the terms of this contract, and as directed by the City of Brookhaven Director of Public Works or their authorized representative. Unless otherwise specified all work shall be completed in accordance with The City of Brookhaven, except as noted or directed by the project manager/engineer. Each bid must be accompanied by a BID BOND (bond only: certified checks or other forms are not acceptable) in an amount equal to five percent (5%) of the base bid, payable to the City of Brookhaven. Said bid bond guarantees the bidder will enter into a contract to construct the project strictly within the terms and conditions stated in this bid and in the bidding and contract documents, should the construction contract be awarded. The Successful Bidder shall be required to furnish a bond for the faithful performance on the contract and a bond to secure payment of all claims for materials furnished and/or labor performed in performance of the project, both in amounts equal to one hundred percent (100%) of the contract price. The services to be performed under this Contract shall commence upon the date stated in the Notice to Proceed Letter. The contract period for this contract is 90 days from the date stated in the Notice to Proceed Letter. Upon the completion of the full scope of work the contract shall terminate absolutely and without further obligation as required by O.C.G.A. 36-60-13, as amended, unless terminated earlier in accordance with the provisions of this Contract. Contract Duration: We anticipate 120 calendar days but will rely on further input from the Contractor, i.e., a draft schedule. The contractor must procure, at its expense payment and performance bonds with a penal amount no less than the Contract Sum. Such bonds shall be written in the AIA A101-2017 forms of such other forms as the City may approve in its sole discretion. The contractor shall also provide a maintenance bond in a substantially similar form to Exhibit C hereto. The City of Brookhaven reserves the right to reject all bids and to waive technicalities and informalities, and to make an award in the best interest of the City of Brookhaven. The City of Brookhaven is not responsible for any technical difficulties. It is highly recommended that all potential contractors submit their quotes prior to the due date of this solicitation. Work will be done in accordance with the Contract Documents: Agreement, Drawings(100% Construction Plan for: City of Brookhaven PSB - Soccer Field, Permit #24000-09, dated July 02, 2024), Special Details, City of Brookhaven Standard Details, Standard Specifications, and Pay Items Index as the standards for the construction and completion of the work required, except as noted or directed by the Engineer. Scope: The contractor shall furnish all materials, equipment, and labor to complete the required construction, as described in the specifications, including all incidentals, as directed by the terms of this contract, and as directed by the City of Brookhaven Director of Public Works or their authorized representative. Unless otherwise specified all work shall be completed in accordance with The City of Brookhaven, except as noted or directed by the project manager/engineer. Specifications: 1. The Contractor shall perform the erosion control items as shown in the plans, including but not limited to, maintenance and removal after completion. 2. The Contractor shall include tree protection fencing. 3. The Contractor shall specify the correct seed mix for re-grassing as reflected in the drawings (60% improved Bermuda, 20% perennial rye, 10% tall fescue; 10% Kentucky bluegrass). 4. The Contractor shall provide LF pricing (not to exceed) for fencing to tie-in areas removed during construction. Type of fencing to match existing chain-link. 5. The Contractor shall include demo cost to factor in tree removal and clearing of underbrush outside of limits as described on C-01. 6. The Contractor to schedule a pre-con meeting with Kaizen Collaborative and the city prior to beginning work. Attendees should include Tanner Copeland, Jeff Dadisman, CPS, Eric Long, and possible either Christian or the local commissioner requesting the project. 7. The Contractor shall provide pricing for striping the field.
