Site work for a water / sewer project in Carver, Massachusetts. Completed plans call for site work for a water / sewer project.

The Operations & Maintenance Department for the Municipal Well System is requesting bids from contractors with experience and references to install a Corrosion Control System for the Municipal Well System at 2 Meadowbrook Way in Carver, MA. The Town of Carver currently operates an existing well filtration system that consists ofsodium hypochloritechemical injection, iron, arsenic, and manganese removal, water storage, and the use of a hydro pneumatic tank and booster pump ski. Well water is first injected with sodium hypochlorite for disinfection before being treated by two greensand pressure-filter vessels for iron, arsenic, and manganese removal. After greensand treatment, the well water is then pumped to an 8,000-gallon gravity storage tank. The booster pump skid, which is hydraulically parallel to a hydro pneumatictank, transfers pressurized water from the storage tank to the distribution system. The awarded bid will become effective September 16, 2024 The Operations & Maintenance Director, Dave Siedentopf will be accepting questions in writing ONLY by noon on August 16, 2024, dsiedentopf@carverma.org The proposed corrosion control system will be comprised of a chemical feed pump, a day tank with a mixer, a pH meter and controller, and a static mixer. The chemical feed pump will draw soda ash solution form the day tank and will inject the solution upstream ofthe existing greensand pressure filter vessels through an inline static mixer. After the soda ash injection, processed water will then be further mixed within the greensand pressure filter vessels before being measured by a downstream pH meter. The downstream pH meter will monitor the pH and will adjust the dosing rate ofthe soda ash chemical feed pump to maintain the pH value within the acceptable parameters. Ifthe pH value exceeds the acceptable parameters, then the soda ash chemical feed pump will terminate operation until the acceptable parameters are reached. The soda ash chemical feed pump and downstream pH meter will be powered from the existing greensand pressure filter system control panel. See the attached figure showing the schematic block drawing ofthe proposed corrosion control system. Pare verified with AdEdge Water Technologies, the manufacturer ofthe greensand filtration system, that the corrosion control system can be powered from the AdEdge control panel.
