The Henderson County Board of Education will receive lump sum sealed bids on a general contract for the replacement of wastewater treatment plants at Spottsville, Cairo and Niagara Elementary Schools Abbreviated Written Summary: Briefly and without force and effect upon the contract documents, the work of the Contract can be summarized as follows: Project Descriptions: The work consists of the replacement of wastewater treatment plants at Spottsville, Cairo and Niagara Elementary Schools. The Work includes, but is not limited to, earth moving, turf and grasses, facility water distribution piping, facility sanitary sewers, and packaged wastewater treatment plant, and complete clean-up and removal of construction debris. Bid Guaranty in the form of a Bid Bond (Proposal bonds with Contractor acting as surety are not acceptable), Certified Check, or cash shall accompany each bid. The amount of the bid Guaranty shall be not less than five percent (5%) of the Bid set forth in the Proposal Form. All bid Guaranties shall be made payable to the Henderson County Schools. No bids may be withdrawn after the scheduled closing time for receipt of bids for a period of sixty (60) days there from. The scoring of bids/proposals is subject to Reciprocal preference for Kentucky resident bidders and Preferences for a Qualified Bidder. Please refer to specification section 00450. The Owner reserves the right to determine the ability of any bidder to perform the work, and upon the request of the Owner, any bidder shall furnish such information as may be required to make this determination The successful bidder shall be required to furnish a performance and payment bond and a material and payment bond in an amount equal to at least One Hundred Percent (100%) of the Contract price. The premium for the bonds shall be included in the proposal amount(s). The Owner reserves the right to accept any bid, to reject any or all bids, to waive any informalities in bids received where such acceptance, rejection or waiver is considered to be in the best interest of the Owner and to reject any bid where evidence of information submitted by the bidder does not satisfy the Owner that the Bidder is qualified to carry out the details of the Contract Documents. Doc note Check covering deposit shall be made payable to the order of the Henderson County Schools Board of Education. All mailing charges (non-refundable), if required, are to be arranged in advance with and paid directly to Maco-Evansville Blue with a separate check. Electronic copies of the plans will be available and shall be arranged with and paid for directly to Maco-Evansville Blue (non-refundable). Subcontractors not listed above and material suppliers may purchase complete sets of Bid Documents at a cost of Two Hundred Dollars per set, non-refundable, or obtain electronic copies as detailed above.
