Site work and paving for a mixed-use development in Kawartha Lakes, Ontario. Completed plans call for site work for a sidewalk / parking lot; for paving for a sidewalk / parking lot; and water / sewer project.
Kawartha Conservation requires the services of an experienced landscaping contractor to complete construction of a Low Impact Development (LID) demonstration site project at Ken Reid Conservation Area's Field Centre. The successful bidder will work closely with Kawartha Conservation's Landowner and Community Support to complete the project based on a previously completed design. Supported by the RBC Tech for Nature grant, Kawartha Conservation aims to address runoff issues at Ken Reid Conservation Area Field Centre by implementing LID features. The project will also educate visitors about the benefits of LID practices, which help mitigate flooding, reduce sedimentation, erosion, and pollution in nearby aquatic habitats, and support species at risk in the area. This initiative will enhance water quality, biodiversity, and environmental education, inspiring residents and visitors to implement LIDs on their own properties. Given Kawartha Conservation's numerous events and educational programs, this demonstration site is ideally located to maximize community engagement and awareness.
