The intersection of Nogales Highway was identified in the 2009-2013 Town of Sahuarita Roadway Safety Study as a priority location for safety improvements. Major intersection improvements with this project will include adding a northeast-bound right turn lane on Nogales Highway and a new left turn lane into the Shopping Center from Nogales Highway. Award shall be made to the lowest responsive and responsible bidder(s) meeting specifications within 60 calendar days of bid opening The contractor shall work only after receiving the Town's Notice to Proceed from the designated Town Representative. The contractor shall complete all work to the satisfaction of the designated Town Representative in accordance with all terms, provisions and specifications set forth in this Contract. Unless the bidder states otherwise, or unless otherwise provided within the IFB, the Town reserves the right to award by individual line item, by group of line items, or as a total, whichever is deemed most advantageous to the Town Question Deadline 08/23/2024 at 3:00 PM MT All inquiries related to this solicitation shall be in writing and submitted via online. The Town Representative may require any and all questions to be submitted in writing at his/her sole discretion. Project Scope of Work: The intersection of Nogales Highway and Abrego Drive was identified in the 2009-2013 Town of Sahuarita Roadway Safety Study as a priority location for safety improvements. Major intersection improvements with this project will include adding a northeast-bound right turn lane on Nogales Highway and a new left turn lane into the Shopping Center from Nogales Highway. The addition of the northeast-bound right turn lane on Nogales Highway would require reconstruction of the curb and sidewalk along the roadway for the length of the lane and taper. It will also require construction of a catch basin at the intersection, relocation of the signal poles, extension of signal conduits, and extension of a storm drainpipe. To help reduce the northeast-bound left turn volume into the Shopping Center at the traffic signal, a new left turn lane will be constructed within the existing raised median at the existing driveway southwest of the Nogales Highway/Abrego Drive intersection. The new median break will allow unsignalized left turns from Nogales Highway, but no left turns out of the Shopping Center. These improvements will also require the relocation of an existing catch basin and extension of a storm drainpipe.
