South Mary's Creek & Walnut Creek Lift Stations Questions Due Date: Sep 9th 2024, 5:00 PM CDT Online Portal The Fort Worth Water Department (FWWD) requests proposals for the design of two lift stations (Mary's Creek Confluence Lift Station and the Walnut Creek Lift Station) in west Fort Worth that will pump to the proposed Mary's Creek Water Reclamation Facility (MCWRF). SCOPE OF WORK The work by the Engineer would start with coordination with the MCWRF and Mary's Creek Lift Station Force Main projects to determine the size and hydraulic requirements of the two lift stations to match the capacity of MCWRF. Upon acquisition of the lift station site, the Water Department will direct the Engineer to initiate the detailed design of each lift station, force main connection, and any required gravity mains connections. Work will include, permitting, preparation of plans and specifications, bidding assistance, and construction services (excluding on-site inspection). The individual components of each project are described in more detail below: o Wastewater Lift Station: The wastewater lift station will be designed to operate under both normal and peak flow conditions. Design of the lift station shall include coordination with the power company to bring power to the site, design of controls and SCADA interface, odor control, permitting, and development of operating methodology in conjunction with city staff. Initial size and future expansions with the coordinated with the MCWRF Engineer to match the plant capacity. o Wastewater Force Main: Connections to Force Mains. Surge model, force main pressure class, and air valve analysis. Coordinate with Force Main Engineer on final force main size, pressure class, and air valve placement. o Gravity Sewer Main. The sewer gravity main connection and provisions for bypass will be required between the lift station(s) and existing gravity lines. COORDINATION The Engineer will be required to coordinate with numerous stakeholders as part of this project. Coordination with the Tarrant Regional Water District, the US Army Corps of Engineers, and Tarrant County, will all be required as part of the lift station design. SCHEDULE The initial goal will be to quickly negotiate and award the engineering agreement in the December 2024. Easement acquisition for the gravity lines, permitting, and preparation of plans and specifications should be accomplished within 14 months. The total budget for engineering the two lift stations is $3,500,000.00 A Business Equity Goal for this project is 8%. Consultants shall submit their Business Equity utilization plan with their proposal. Failure to submit the Business Equity plan with the proposal will render the proposal non-responsive. The Business Equity plan will be part of the weighted selection criteria. The method of Contractor Selection has not been Determined at this time.
