The Engineer's Estimate is $1,000,000. The City of Sour Lake, Texas will accept sealed bids for furnishing necessary materials, equipment, superintendence and labor for the City of Sour Lake, Texas, GLO CDBG-MIT Water System Improvements Project, Contract No. 22-085-037-D281, Water Well No. 5. The Project is generally described of completing one Gulf Coast Aquifer Water Well by drilling 905 feet of 8 3/4-inch pilot borehole; set of geophysical logs (one triple-combo suite of logs and one TDS-NaCl-Archie log); reaming or drilling approximately 760 feet of 20-inch diameter borehole; furnishing, installing, and pressure cementing approximately 762 feet of 14-inch steel casing; underreaming approximately 145 feet of 18-inch diameter borehole beneath the casing; furnishing and installing approximately 120 feet of 8-inch steel liner and 95 feet of 8-inch pipe-based stainless steel screen; furnishing and installing approximately 205 feet of filter pack; 80 hours of development via air lift pumping with surge block; 36-hour aquifer test, including recovery; water quality sample from the constructed well, including three consecutive passing bacteria samples; furnishing and installing a 900 gpm vertical turbine lineshaft pump with 100 H.P. motor on 400 feet of 8-inch steel column pipe; and completing the wellhead with concrete pad and accessories up to the water meter, per technical specifications in the contract documents. The right is reserved by the City of Sour Lake, as the City's interest may require, to accept or reject any or all bids, and to waive any informality in the bids received. Owner and Engineer, in making copies of Bidding Documents available on the above terms, do so only for the purpose of obtaining Bids for the Work and do not confer a license or grant for any other purpose. Bid Security, only in the form of 1) a certified or cashier's check drawn on a Texas bank and made payable to the City of Sour Lake; or 2) a bond executed by a surety company authorized to do business in Texas, in the amount of not less than five (5%) percent of the total bid, must accompany each bid at the time it is submitted. Bids must be submitted on the form shown in the Contract Documents. A Contractor Qualification Statement must also accompany each bid. Bids may be held by the City of Sour Lake for a period not to exceed 60 days from the date of the bid opening for the purpose of reviewing the bids and investigating the bidder's qualifications prior to the contract award.
