Saskatchewan Power Corporation ("SaskPower") to prospective proponents to submit proposals for the provision of IMAX Theatre Elevator Renewal SaskPower is a Saskatchewan Crown Corporation continued under The Power Corporation Act (Saskatchewan). It is principally responsible for the generation, transmission and distribution of electricity for most of Saskatchewan. Saskpower is seeking proposals for the modernization of the passenger elevator within the IMAX Theatre located in 2903 Powerhouse Drive, Regina. It is operated by a non-for-profit organization. SaskPower provides the space for the theatre. The passenger elevator provides accessible travel between the main and second floors of the theatre. The theatre is open to the public 6-7 days a week. The elevator was installed in 1990, and it has exceeded the typical life cycle of elevators (25 years). With their age the elevators are breaking and needing maintenance frequently. Due to their age and their company being out of business their spare parts are obsolete and not readily available. The elevator was assessed, and the assessment report concluded that the passenger elevator needs to be modernized immediately.
