The United States Coast Guard Air Station Houston is soliciting for a contractor that will provide all labor and materials to remove existing rubberized pellet surface and replace with fall safe foam surface to improve safety of play area. A recent environmental inspection revealed that existing rubberized pellets were running out into the parking lot and storm drain and need to be removed and replaced as this is an environmental violation. Resurfacing the play area with fall protecting foam will increase safety for children using the area. 2. COMMENCEMENT, PROSECUTION AND COMPLETION OF WORK: The Contractor shall be required to commence as soon as all supplies are acquired for the project. All contractors must contact the Coast Guard Air Station Facility Engineering Department to arrange base access. 3. GOVERNMENT FACILITIES: Electricity and water will be made available from Air Station Houston's facility. Contractor is responsible for providing extension power cords and any required tools as necessary. 4. SCOPE OF WORK: a. Upon arrival, check in with a Facility Engineering Representative. b. All work is to be completed Monday through Friday between the hours of 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM unless otherwise arranged with the Facility Engineering Department. c. Maintenance to be performed includes the following: 1. Disassemble and remove existing playground equipment. Set aside in secure location, maintain accountability for all parts. Vendor is responsible for any parts lost or broken during disassembly and storage. 2. Remove and dispose of wood lumber boarder around existing structure. Vendor is responsible for disposal of all removed parts.
