Site work and renovation of a playground / park / athletic field in Liard River, British Columbia. Completed plans call for the renovation of a playground / park / athletic field.
BC Parks is seeking construction services to upgrade and repair the existing off grid power plant, power distribution kiosk and re stabilize the Solar Power Plant footings at Liard Hot Springs Park. Liard Hot Spring Park provides a campground and services for the public to utilize the unique hot spring pools. The Park is serviced by a year-round Park Operator resident, seasonal contracted park maintenance staff, and seasonal BC Parks staff. The site is not on the grid. The accommodations are supplied with power by an off-grid power system. The system was installed in 2019. The system generally comprises of a battery bank that is mainly powered by a solar array and topped off by a propane generator. The power is converted from 12v DC to 120v AC and distributed throughout the service yard to the various residences and outbuildings, as well as an electric wildlife fence that surrounds the service yard and campground.
