WinnCompanies is proposing to install backlow prevention assemblies on four (4) separate storm sewer laterals to be housed in three (3) precast concrete underground vaults at the Breslyn House Apartments located at 4640 Walnut Street, Philadelphia, PA 19139. One 5'x5' precast concrete vault will be installed in the sidewalk along Walnut Street for the storm sewer lateral extending from the north side of Building A. One 5'x5' precast concrete vault will be installed in the sidewalk between Buildings A and B for the storm sewer lateral between these buildings. One 9'x5' precast concrete vault will be installed in the sidewalk along Farragut Street for the two storm sewer laterals extending from the south side of Building E. In general, the work includes, but is not limited to: sawcutting and removal of existing concrete sidewalk, test pits as necessary, installation of precast concrete vaults including manhole covers and ladders, pouring of concrete for sloped vault bottoms and pipe supports, removal and replacement of storm sewer lateral segments, pipe connections, installation of swing check valves and pipe fittings, excavation and backfill, trench restoration, maintenance and protection of pedestrian traffic, concrete sidewalk restoration, and temporary erosion and sediment control measures. All work shall be performed in accordance with the City of Philadelphia Building and Plumbing Code, Philadelphia Streets Department, and Philadelphia Water Department specifications.
