As of September 23, 2024, project was awarded to O & A Classic Coatings and Paintings Corporation with base bid of $261,000 (Alternate 1 $6,000 & Alternate 2 $3,500). This project consists of interior and exterior painting of the water tower in De Smet, South Dakota. Work will include removal of the existing interior and exterior paint and repainting of the tower. This will include painting of the City’s name and logo on the tower and replacement of the existing vent. Substantial completion date for the project is October 1, 2025. The construction limits shall be within City-owned property and right of way areas. Material storage, vehicle, and equipment traffic shall be limited to the construction limits or other staging areas secured by the Contractor. Contractors shall maintain construction materials, equipment, etc. in this area to minimize and avoid disturbance to other areas. The Contractor will locate and make ecessary arrangements for staging areas. All areas used for staging will be restored to the satisfaction of the Property Owner and Engineer. The City of De Smet reserves the right to accept or reject any and/or all Bids as set forth in the Bidding Documents. Each bid shall be accompanied by a Bid Security as described in the Bidding Documents. The Successful Bidder will be required to provide Payment and Performance Bonds as described in the Bidding Documents. Although a firm timeline has not been confirmed, construction is not expected to start prior to fourth quarter 2024. *The bid list for this project may be incomplete.
