The City of Seattle, through its Department of Transportation (SDOT) solicits interest from qualified consulting firms with expertise in engineering design services with the intention of awarding the consultant through 100% design, and potential for construction management services. This project will provide design for rehabilitation of two areaways composed of a brick street wall and brick arches with steel support beams as sidewalk support and concrete sidewalk surface. Areaways will require rehabilitating and preserving the areaway structure while enhancing the street wall to support increasing vehicle loads and current seismic design requirements. This project will also resurface the existing sidewalk surface. This negotiated hourly rate contract for the design phase is estimated to be up to $450,000 with an anticipated project schedule of Q3 2024 through Q2 2025 for design. SDOT reserves the right to retain the services of the successful firm(s) for any subsequent phases (PS&E, CM) associated with this project.
