Renovation of a municipal facility in Montreal, Quebec. Completed plans call for the renovation of a municipal facility.
The project aims to replace approximately 90 transformers that are more than 30 years old. To minimize the impact on the building's operations, the work will take place over several weekends with several teams of electricians taking turns. The new processors will comply with the standards and regulations in force. Challenges and constraints: Interventions must be carried out outside office hours so as not to disturb the occupants of the building, which requires careful organization and increased availability of staff. Ensuring the presence of qualified teams during these unconventional hours represents a major logistical challenge. Replacement in separate phases is essential to minimize disruption and ensure business continuity. Careful planning is required to coordinate each step, manage resources, and ensure the safety of occupants and the site. Minimizing prolonged interruptions to the power supply is another challenge, requiring a smooth transition and the implementation of temporary solutions if necessary. The general contractor must ensure that downtime is minimized and that the electrical system is reliable throughout the work. Employees qualified to perform the work will require PSPC reliability status.
