The City of League City is now accepting sealed proposals for a city-wide Wide Area Rough Cut Mowing service. The contents of all proposals will remain confidential until after a contract has been awarded by City Council. All inquiries about this RFP must be submitted in writing by emailing the Purchasing Department at: purchasing@leaguecitytx.gov. Deadline for Submitting Questions: September 9, 2024 @ 5:30pm MOWING REQUIREMENTS:
o All rough-cut areas shall be cut to a uniformed height of no more than six (6) to eight (8) inches.
o Contractor will be responsible for any damages to fence lines adjacent to rough cut areas.
o Contractor will ensure all fence lines and guard rails adjacent to rough cut areas will be maintained via hand tools/power tools to restrict growth of high vegetation.
o Channel bottoms and tow lines in the exhibits listed below must be trimmed via hand tools/power tools if the mechanical mowers used in mowing the slopes cannot reach them to ensure
a uniform cut.
o * Exhibits listed with an asterisk and a description of (slopes only) will be exempted from the Channel Bottom and Tow Line requirement. The channel bottoms of those areas are maintained by the City of League City or will be maintained by request as listed in Exhibit E: Landscape Service Item #4 Detention Pond and Flow Line Mowing.
o Roadside ditches have an average width of 15 Feet. A cashier's check or certified cashier's check or Certified Check from a Texas Bank, or acceptable Bid Bond from a reliable surety company authorized to do business in Texas, payable to the City of League City, in an amount not less than 5% of the maximum Offeror price submitted, must accompany each Offer as a guarantee that, if awarded the contract, the bidder will, within 10 calendar days of Award of Contract, enter into a Contract and execute Bonds on the forms provided in the Contract Documents. The Offeror's deposit shall be forfeited and become the property of the OWNER in the event the Offeror neglects or refuses to enter into a contract and to furnish bonds acceptable to the OWNER within 10 calendar days after receipt of Notice to Award from the OWNER. The City of League City is seeking qualified proposers for a city-wide Wide Rough Cut Mowing Service. The locations in the Request for Proposal are listed in Attachment D with estimated area in acres accompanied by the number of mowing cycles expected. These estimates are for acquainting the proposer with probable labor to be expected during the contract term. These estimates are not intended to set forth minimum or maximum labor on this contract and shall not be constructed as such. At the time of the opening of proposals, each Proposer shall be presumed to have inspected the sites (if applicable) and to have read and be thoroughly familiar with the contract requirements. The failure or omission of any Proposer to examine any form, instrument, document, or site shall in no way relieve any proposer from any obligation in respect to this proposal. Only the services submitted and listed in this proposal package and included in any addendums will be considered. It shall be each Proposer's responsibility to thoroughly inspect the one hundred and five (105) areas of work and to inform itself regarding all local conditions under which the work is to be done. It shall be understood and agreed that all such factors have been comprehensively investigated and considered in the preparation of the base proposal submitted. General This will be a two (2) year contract, with three (3) one-year renewal terms available upon the mutual agreement of the parties. Contractor shall perform Scope of Services identified in this Agreement in accordance with the rate schedule, attached and incorporated as Exhibit A. The rate schedule may be updated annually based on the CPI Adjustment as listed in Annual Rate Adjustment. Any rate increases will require an updated Exhibit A to be incorporated into the Agreement at the start of each year. The annually renewable agreement is meant as an option for either party to exit the contractual obligation at its discretion.
