The Town of Oakville (the town) invites proposals for services described as the provision of professional design and construction services for the design, supply and installation of one (1) new "replica" wood gazebo at George's Square, located at 179 Trafalgar Road, Oakville, ON. The new gazebo shall replicate the structure that exists today, but with the incorporation of current building materials and techniques that may make the structure more durable. Proposals showing any 'radical' departure from the existing gazebo or alternative modern design elements will not be considered. George's Square is located at 179 Trafalgar Road, near downtown Oakville. The park is also located within the Trafalgar Road Heritage District. Although the gazebo itself is not a designated structure, the review and approval of the new structure will require Heritage Oakville review. Proponents must make themselves familiar with existing above ground site conditions at George's Square. There are numerous mature trees on site and appropriate tree protection measures shall be observed during demolition and construction. The project has a total upset limit of $140,000.00 including applicable HST. Refer to Section 4 Scope of Work / Specification.
