Shawnee County Board of County Commissioners has authorized the issuance of a "Request for Qualifications" for professional services necessary to conduct a Feasibility Study concerning a possible replacement for the existing 110' Marsh Arch type bridge on NW Valencia Road over Big Soldier Creek (Shawnee County Project S-121066.00). The existing bridge is located 4.75 miles north of Silver Lake, Kansas and approximately 0.92 miles west of the intersection of NW 70th Street & NW Hoch Road. SHAWNEE COUNTY PROJECT No. S-121066.00 Shawnee County Bridge OSN 076 - NBI #000890977104140 Prepare, deliver and present a detailed written Feasibility Study to the Shawnee County Department of Public Works and Board of County Commissions concerning a possible replacement for the existing 110' Marsh Arch bridge and to identify and prioritize alternate bridge approach alignments, and creek and railroad crossing locations with consideration given to overall cost, right-of-way needs, vertical clearance requirements, utility relocation needs, State and Federal permitting requirements and future maintenance needs. The study report shall summarize study findings and recommendations and briefly discuss environmental impacts of the project and proposed alignment changes as required by the National Environmental Protection Act (NEPA).
