As of July 22, 2025, final design and land acquisition are complete and the plans have been advertised for bidders on the Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT) website. The project will add auxiliary turning lanes including an additional left turn lane in each direction along 143rd Street (to provide dual left turn lanes) and a separate right turn lane in each direction along John Humphrey Drive. The project includes roadway reconstruction along 143rd Street and widening and resurfacing along John Humphrey Drive. It also includes drainage work, a traffic signal upgrade, and lighting improvements.
