The Board of Education for Montague Area Public Schools will be receiving sealed bids for: Air Conditioning System Replacements Montague High School 4900 Stanton Blvd. Montague, MI 49437 Project Information: The purpose of this project is to replace (2) two existing R-22 air conditioning systems at Montague High School. All bids must be for the entire project. All major subcontractors shall be named by the bidder. The bidder shall specify its full name, address, contact person and telephone number, state whether it is a corporation, partnership, or individual, and include certificates evidencing current contractor's liability, commercial general liability, and vehicle liability insurance for the project amount specified in the bid documents. Work shall commence after September 9, 2024 and be completed no later than January 1, 2025. The successful bidder shall work with Tom Cederquist, Director of Operations, regarding the project's schedule. Project Scope Montague Area Public Schools is accepting proposals from qualified contractors who have a proven history of providing equipment and services required to complete the following work: This project will include removing the existing condensers, evaporator coils, and refrigerant piping from systems serving the (2) two existing multi-zone air handlers, and providing and installing new condensers, coils, and piping. The map of Montague High School on page 4 details the location of the units. AHU 3F is an existing 33 ton McCuay, and is a 5 zone air handler. AHU 4E is an existing 20 ton Trane, and is a 5 zone air handler. The new 410a units shall be Trane units with no package controls. Other manufacturers may be allowed only with permission from the district's Director of Operations. The new systems will be R410a refrigerant. R410a operates at a higher pressure than R22, which is the reason the coils will need to be replaced. Replacement of the coils will require opening up the existing AHU and then patching back together with sheet metal. The existing fans, heating coils, and controls of AHU will remain, and no repairs are included. The new R410a system will have a full warranty. Proposals shall include all applicable taxes, permits, and shipping costs. 1. Remove and legally dispose of existing air-cooled condenser, DC cooling coil, and associated material 2. Provision and install new air cooled condensers 3. Provision and install new cooling coils 4. Patch and repair existing AHU after installation of new coils 5. Provision and install refrigerant piping, TXV valve, and solenoid valve 6. Insulate new piping 7. Connect new condensers to existing electrical. Mechanical contractor will provide high voltage electrical modifications. Montague Area Public Schools will provide control integration 8. Pressure test and charge systems with R410a 9. Provide start-up and test of systems 10. Include rental of crane 11. Provide (1) One year parts and labor warranty, and (5) five year compressor warranty All proposals shall be accompanied by a sworn and notarized Familial Disclosure Statement as well as Iran Economic Sanctions Act, both of which forms are included in the Bid Form. All bids may not be modified, withdrawn, or canceled for a period of sixty (60) days from the time and date of bid receipt. All bids must meet or exceed all specification contained herein. Bids must be submitted on the attached form and be signed by the bidder.
