The City of Arcata (City) is soliciting bids for the Tank 1 A/B Perimeter Fence Project. The Project includes the installation of a new chain link fence with barbed wire at the top, and access gates around the City's water storage Tanks 1 A&B in Arcata, California. The Project includes the installation of a new chain link fence with barbed wire at the top, and access gates around the City's water storage Tanks 1 A&B in Arcata, California. The Work consists of the installation of approximately 800 linear feet of 6' tall, green vinyl chain link fence, three-strands of barbed wire, one pedestrian gate, and one 12' manual rolling gate . Furnish and install: o Eight hundred (800) linear feet of 6' tall green vinyl chain link fence o Three (3) strands of barbed wire (green to match fence material) o One (1), 6' tall pedestrian gate (green to match fence material) o One (1) 12' long, 6' tall manual rolling gate (green to match fence material) General Service, supplies, and equipment to be provided by the Contractor include, but are not limited to the following: o Labor o Materials and supplies o Tools and equipment o Transportation vehicles o Administration, management, and maintenance support to perform services as specified o Removal and disposal of any waste generated during performance of the Work. o Site control and safety o General cleanup Project / Site Conditions A. The awarded contractor shall receive a Notice to Proceed from the City Manager and notify the City Engineer prior to starting work. B. Contractor shall attend a pre-construction meeting at the project site prior to the commencement of work to review methods and procedures related to the project. C. All materials shall be applied in accordance with manufacturer's recommendations and in conformance with best management practices utilized by trade experts. D. Protect all buildings, site, landscape & utilities from damage during the project. If damage to the facility occurs as a result of Contractor's work, Contractor shall be Contractors must possess a C-13 Fencing, or a Class A, Contractor's License, and possess a valid Business License from the City of Arcata prior to commencing work and demonstrate the necessary qualifications to complete the work described in the Scope of Work in Attachment A. The selected contractor will enter into a construction contract (Attachment C - Sample Construction Contract) prior to commencing work. The Request for Bids Package for this Work and any reference materials related to this RFB are available for download on the City's websiteUpon award of the contract, the successful bidder shall furnish a bond for faithful performance in the amount of 100% of the total bid. The faithful performance bond shall be valid for a term of at least twelve (12) months after project completion. The projected duration of this project is October 1, 2024, through November 1, 2024. Working hours are 8:00 a.m. through 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, excepting City-observed holidays. The City reserves the right to reject any or all proposals, to accept or reject any one or more items of a proposal, or to waive any minor irregularities or informalities in any proposal.
