Point Potrero Marine Terminal Assessment Scope of Services : The Port of Richmond Seeks Interested Parties to Complete a Facility Assessment of the Processing Building (Machine Shop) At Shipyard Number 3 Within the Point Potrero Marine Terminal. The Processing Building is Listed on the National Register of Historic Places and Located Within the Rosie the Riveter World War Ii Home Front National Historical Park. Shipyard Number 3 Was One of the Four Shipyards Developed In Richmond by Henry J Kaiser Between 1941 and 1942. Employing Thousands, the Shipyards Constructed More Than 747 Vessels During World War Ii. Immediately Following the War, the Kaiser Corporation Converted Shipyard Number 3 to A Ship Repair Facility. However, Market Demand Was Not Strong Enough for These Services. Another Plan to Dismantle Vessels At the Facility Was Not Feasible and Kaiser Abandoned the Shipyards in August 1946. The method of Contractor Selection has not been Determined at this time.
