The Town is seeking qualifications from environmental firms so it may select a Qualified Environmental Professional (QEP) to work with the Town's staff, SMPDC, USEPA, MEDEP, and other project stakeholders. The QEP will assist in managing and overseeing the Brownfields cleanup subgrant and the necessary tasks associated with the cleanup activities, on behalf of the Town of Kittery at 42 and 44 Old Post Road, Kittery Maine. The Town of Kittery, Maine (the Town) will be redeveloping the former residentialand garage property at 42-44 Old Post Road in Kittery, Maine (the Site). To support the abatement/cleanup of the Site, the Town was awarded a United States Environmental Protection Agency (U.S. EPA) Brownfields-funded cleanup subgrant through the Southern Maine Planning and Development Commission (SMPDC) Brownfields Cleanup Revolving Loan Fund (RLF) Program. These funds, in part, will be used for the proper management and abatement of hazardous building materials and wastes in two building structures at the Site and the subsequent demolition of the garage structure. The demolition of the former residence will be paid for by the Town of Kittery separately. The Town intends to contract with a company for activities associated with hazardous building material and waste abatement, demolition, and appropriate disposal of materials off-Site. Specific questions regarding information in this request for proposals shall be posed in writing by 4:00 PM on Monday, August 15, 2024 to Haley Mock at the Town of Kittery at hmock@kitteryme.org. No questions will be answered via in-person or via telephone. The Town reserves the right to reject any and all qualifications if deemed in the best interest of the Town. The Town may invite a short list of candidate consultants for an interview.
