AHEC-25910-B - Roofs for N. & S. Chiller Plnts & 5th St Hub Estimated Construction Cost: $506,000.00 Qualified roofing contractors are invited to bid to replace and install new roofing at the North and South Chiller Plants and the 5th Street Hub on the Auraria Higher Education Center (AHEC) campus. Scope includes replacing the existing roof as shown on the drawings. The North Chiller Plant is approximately 2,368 square feet (SF) in area (the North Chiller has ~1,600 SF of roof - the north section of the building is the at grade cooling tower). The South Chiller Plant is approximately 2,267 SF in area. The 5th Street Hub is approximately 10,196 SF in area. All new roofing is to be EPDM with new insulation and cover boards. The project also includes installation of new or replacement of existing roof access ladders. This project is slated to begin the fall of 2024. Roof replacement at these locations will not impact any classes. Selected roofing contractor must confirm with assigned AHEC Project Manager if there is to be any interruptions at any of the locations. It is not anticipated that any sprinklers or life safety systems will be affected or need to be shut down. All work that involves shutting down the sprinkler system will need to be scheduled and coordinated with the AHEC Project Manager. AEC-West is the authority having jurisdiction and have reviewed the plans for this project. If the construction value is $50,000 or greater a Bid Bond and Power of Attorney or Proposal Guaranty is required in an amount not less than 5% of the total Bid.
