In general, the work consists of adding back-up power for the Wisconsin Primate Center at 1223 Capitol Court and Harlow Lab at 22 North Charter Street. Back-up power will be provided by adding (2) 350kW, diesel generators within a 920 square foot vault addition off the north-east corner of the Wisconsin Primate Center building. The addition will 18 consist of two spaces and be located directly above the existing electrical vault. One space will contain the generators and the other will contain the new electrical distribution equipment including automatic transfer switches, circuit breakers 20 and a new unit substation. The existing medium voltage transformer in the electrical vault will be demolished once the new unit substation is in place. The existing switchboard located in that basement of the Wisconsin Primate Center will be replaced. The existing medium voltage transformer serving Harlow Lab will remain and get re-fed via new transfer switch. The project will require phased construction with minimal power outages to the existing buildings. Bid Guarantee in the amount of 10% of the Bid must accompany each bid submitted. Contractor MUST submit hard 35 copies of bid to UWSA within 10 working days of being notified of award. Bidder is required to furnish separate 100% performance and 100% payment bonds to the benefit of the Board of Regents of the University of Wisconsin System as the sole oblige. These bonds shall be delivered to the Owner with the signed contract. The Surety Company shall be licensed to do business in Wisconsin. The Bond must be dated the same date or subsequent to the date of the Contract.
