Shawnee County Board of County Commissioners has authorized the issuance of a "Request for Qualifications" for professional design services from qualified firms to perform engineering services as necessary to ultimately construct safety related improvements to the curves at the intersections of NW 42nd Street with NW Carlson Road and NW Rossville Road. These improvements do not include changes to the alignment of the curves. To assist intersected firms with their proposal, the following documents are provided as attachments to this request: Attachment 1 - Project Funding Application (5 pages) Attachment 2 - Project Programming Request (3 pages) Attachment 3 - Project Authorization (6 pages) This project will be funded using FFY 2026 HRRR (High Risk Rural Roads) program funding and Shawnee County funds. The project will be let and administered by the Kansas Department of Transportation (KDOT). SCOPE OF WORK: Preform engineering services as necessary to prepare construction bid plans and cost estimates for KDOT letting, and in conformance with HRRR Project Development Guidelines (Attachment 4). Prepare right-of-way plans and easement documents for the appraisal and acquisition of necessary easements. Secure Certificates of Title for those properties from which permanent and/or temporary construction easements will be required. Provide field survey staking for easements to assist appraisal and acquisition services. Prepare and submit all necessary applications for permits to those agencies with direct permitting authority over projects of similar type in the State of Kansas. Prepare utility plans and assist the Shawnee County Department of Public Works with utility coordination as defined in the Shawnee County Design Criteria, latest edition. Provide construction engineering services under the direction of KDOT.
